about
The first sample that appears in this song was recorded on a mountain hike in the Dolomites in Italy. I was with my then lover. They came to the hike to achieve something, to be the first. I went on a hike to be on and between mountains. I spent most of the time alone, observing the surroundings. I started wondering about the difference between a human animal and a plant. What happens when a human stays still?
Cells change all the time.
This song is about the hectic life which can "stain" the way we are on holidays (the time off from running around), the addiction to producing and achieving, competing, winning. Staying still, as in staying with what we have, working and playing with what is there as a radical act against the neo-liberal pull for accomplishment and hierarchical models.
lyrics
I am one of you
Just like you
Cells change all the time
Can’t stay still
I am one of you
Just like you
Cells change all the time
Can’t stay still
I am one of you
Just like you
Cells change all the time
Can’t stay still
Even if I wanted if I wanted
I can’t stay still
Time has
Has
Has has
Even if I wanted if I wanted
I can’t stay
Has has
Ass ass ass
Time stay still
Time stay still
Time stay still
Time stay still
Time stay still
Time stay still
Time stay still
Let it stay where things are
Stay where you are
They’re running in the front the winners of all
Stay
Doesn’t matter where we get
Let’s just stay
(A holiday of things but you don’t get that)
Doesn’t matter where I get
Cause I stay
Stay where things are
Stay where things are
I stay
Ass ass ass hass
Time change all the time
